The board is always looking for community minded individuals who are willing to volunteer their time to work together with current members to organize county fair events, contests and exhibits to deliver a family oriented annual fair. This is a working board that is responsible for maintaining the fairgrounds, making decisions and planning the yearly fair, and putting on that fair. The board also holds other events throughout the year at the grounds, including bump n runs, a fall festival and boat & camper storage. Board members put in a tremendous amount of time and effort all year long to make the fair successful.
Assisting in the planning of the fair is a way to give back to the people of the county. It’s about family and friends and showing off talents and hard work. It’s about putting a smile on the face of a kid and giving kids a chance to experience and see new things. Every board member brings different strengths to the group, whether it’s time to spend on the grounds, mowing grass, painting fences, working in the flowerbeds or general maintenance, or jobs like working in the office, computer knowledge or fundraising. Anyone interested in volunteering or in being a board member should have a strong commitment to the community and a desire to improve the Montmorency County 4-H Fair.
